Why these products?

The products that InstockMarket offers are fresh, but often just not suitable for sale in supermarkets. Think of:

  • Vegetables and fruits with an unusual shape or color
  • Products with a short shelf-life
  • Surpluses from harvests
  • Packages with small damages 

Although these products are qualitatively perfect, they do not meet the strict commercial requirements of retail and therefore risk being discarded. InstockMarket gives them a new destination in the hospitality sector, where appearance is less important than taste, quality and sustainability. 

2.705,12 kg saved from waste

Since February 2025, we as a hotel have already saved more than 2,705 kg of food from waste by purchasing from InstockMarket. That equals a CO₂ saving comparable to a drive from Amsterdam to Madrid and back. 

This achievement is part of the No Waste Challenge 020, an initiative by the Gemeente Amsterdam and the foundation Stichting Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling. We are proud that together with other Amsterdam hotels we are taking concrete steps toward a future without waste.
